Macdonald Licensing Limited is a specialised Licensing Company operating since early 2003.

Alistair Macdonald and his team deal with a large variety of licensing matters, principally Liquor Licensing, but also Late Hours Catering, Taxis, HMO and Public Entertainment and Street Traders, and in general any type of licensing issue!

We are based at 21a Rutland Square, Edinburgh, EH1 2BB. Visits to client’s properties can normally be arranged however, and indeed are sometimes essential.

Although based in Edinburgh we have clients all over Scotland and attend Licensing Board Meetings whenever and wherever required. Travel expenses are not charged to clients.

With regard to Liquor Licensing, we are still in the midst of the transitional period, leading up to the “Big Bang” date of 1 September 2009; we have been involved in a large number of applications under the 2005 legislation, and with the last of the “Grandfather Rights” deadlines having passed, most licensees should have applied. If you have missed your deadline however there is still time.......if you hurry!

Similarly, most Boards have now set deadlines for Private Members Clubs to lodge their applications.

Finally, Alistair Macdonald is also a registered trainer under the ServeWise / City and Guilds Courses and our associated company Licensing Training Services Limited, regularly operate training courses for both on and off sales.
